Be careful with pimples- health Experts warn the public

Health Experts warn that pimples if tampered with could turn into a chronic wound.

Dr Sedat Gunes a surgeon at Medipal International Hospital was speaking at the release of a patient Emmanuel Lopuriang from Karamoja who underwent surgery at the facility.

Lopuriang , seven years old had suffered for 4 years due to  the  wound on his head that started off as a pimple.

Dr Gunes who carried out the surgery explained Emma has been on treatment for over 4 weeks and is optimistic that his health will be better soon.

“The wound was 15cm by 10cm from ear to ear but currently it is 3cm by 1cm which is promising that soon it will totally heal “,Gunes said

He stated that the condition is brought by a number of factors including, poor feeding, and use of certain medicines among others.

Emmanuel's mother Anna Kiyonga stressed that the condition started as pimples and later developed into a hole when he was 2 years, she revealed that she went to several health facilities but the boy would not get any improvement.

She added that finally he received treatment from Medipal International Hospital under the support of UNICEF in partnership with Trail Blazers Mentoring Foundation.

Following the gesture the Chief Executive Officer for Medipal International Hospital Adnan Khan stated that other private sector players should be at the fore front of offering free or affordable services to the public as a way of giving back.
