" The European Union should not look at president Museveni as the person who doesn't want LGBTQ community to live in Uganda but it was a decision of the people through their members of parliament. It is the international media which exaggerates this matter but as Uganda, we are ready for dialogue,” Mao said.

He promised the European Union ambassadors that he will engage with the National Security Council on the issues of unlawful arrests, abduction of Ugandans as well as investigating the killings of November 2020 during the presidential campaign.

Jan Sadek the European Union ambassador to Uganda revealed that they will continue to dialogue with the government of Uganda on the anti-Homosexuality law because they are not happy with it.

Sadek told journalists that it's good to put laws in any country but should be fair to the subjects. He said that Anti- homosexuality laws in Uganda may stop LGBTQ community from transacting any business in Uganda because they are not comfortable with it since it takes away their rights.

However he has advised Uganda government to call for a dialogue with concerned parties to create an equal platform for people living in Uganda
