UNEB extends registration deadline for more seven days

The Uganda National Examinations Board -UNEB has today 1st June extended the normal registration of candidates for 2023 examinations to June 07, 2023.

This is done in order to accommodate more candidates who had not registered before the initial deadline of 31, May 2023 elapsed.

In a press statement dated June 1st 2023, the Executive Director UNEB Mr Daniel Odongo called on all heads of schools to use the seven days extension to register any additional candidates even after submission of the main list.

He also urged Parents of candidates and the head teachers to make use of the extension period and register all the potential candidates to ensure that no learner is left out.

He further stated that candidates who will register between the 8th to 30th of June will pay a 100 per cent surcharge for PLE and 50 per cent for UCE and UACE while those who will register in July will be subjected to a 100 per cent surcharge.

“Beyond July 31, schools will not be able to register any candidates. Schools also have until July 31, to make amendments to the submitted data without any surcharge. Schools should contact UNEB via eRegPrimary@uneb.ac.ug; or eRegSecondary@uneb.ac.ug for the PLE, UCE and UACE corrections respectively,” he noted

By the end of the initial normal registration deadline Yesterday May 31, 96% of expected centers for primary leaving examinations- PLE, had registered candidates , while at the Secondary level, 91.2 % and 86% of the Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) and Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) Centres respectively, had registered candidates.

This translates to a total of One million, one hundred sixty-five thousand, one fifty-nine candidates (1,165,159).registered so far for all three levels.

20, 656 Centres are expected to register candidates this year. the statement stated.
