Couple Murder:Mubende MP, LC5 Chairman Summoned

Police have summoned the Buweekula County MP, Pascal Mbabazi and the Mubende district LC5 chairman, Muhereza Michael Ntambi for questioning to aid in investigations related to the murder of a couple in the area.

The incident that happened in the morning of July, 31 at Kilwanyi village, Kilwanyi parish, Kiruma sub county in Mubende district saw 54 year old Milly Naava Namutebi and her husband, Abdallah Kayizzi murdered whereas their two children escaped.

Naava and her husband were killed by a group of squatters led by Benjamin Tumusiime who had invited them for a meeting to resolve the land wrangle.

According to investigations ,when  Naava’s workers went to till the land, they were stopped by Tumusiime who asked them to tell the land lady(Naava) to come for a meeting to resolve the land wrangle .

But when the land lady together with her husband, Abudallah Kayizzi went to meet Tumusiime, the group had already prepare for them. They made an alarm and phone calls inviting other squatters with sticks, pangas, bows and stones to beat the couple.

Police spokesperson Fred Enanga  noted that the MP and the LC5 chairman have been summoned to record statements over allegations that they incited violence and some of their relatives participated in the gruesome murder.

Enanga also notes that five suspects including Tumusiime were last week arraigned in courts of law and charged with murder.

Eleven others who are still on the run are being hunted  to answer charges related to murder and attempted murder..
