Man Charged with Theft of Timber Panels

A 34year habitual Lumber -Jack  has been charged and remanded to Luzira prison on charges related to illegally possessing 206 timber panels allegedly removed from Mabira Forest.

Simbwa Robinson a resident of Najjembe village in Buikwe District has been arraigned before Standards, Utilities and Wildlife Court where he has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

He  is facing similar charges of illegal possession of Forest produce  in other 5 court files.

Simbwa had asked to be released on bail pending trial but grade one magistrate Caroline Kyoshabire advised him to exercise his right to apply for bail on October 12th 2023. 

For now state prosecutor Martin Nabafu has informed court that investigations into the matter are complete and asked court to summon his witnesses .
