- The relatives and families of missing persons fdid not cooperate with police.

Government has finally tabled the long awaited report by members of the opposition on the alleged 18 missing persons ,following the boycott of opposition MPs from plenary sitting for almost a month.
The report read by the internal affairs minister Gen David muhoozi indicate that police failed to investigate the disappearance of the 18 people because they were never reported to police.
Muhoozi also indicated that the next of kin of the reported missing persons, given to police did not cooperate with police investigators ,alleging that they had got directives from Nup leadership not to meet any person.
He added that some cases where Mpuuga attributed alleged disappearances to security operatives had been reported earlier by the relatives of these people as unwitnessed disappearances.
``The case of Kasumba George and Kisembo Godfrey fall in this category ,for the case of Kibalama John Bosco, his vehicle wad reportedly found abandoned along the road and all the belongings that he had at the time ,were intact in the vehicle, including a mobile phone, laptop and an iPad, 'Muhoozi said.
However the Leader of Opposition in parliament Mathias Mpuga while speaking to journalists at parliament he said the report lacked substance but they will respond to it next Tuesday.
Mpuuga added that he will first seat with the rest of his members to study the report and then give response to the statement .
Although the minister said that the police had failed to investigate the disappearance of the 18 missing persons due leaders of National Unity Platform refusing the relatives and families of these persons to provide information to police ,Mpuuga said they have provided enough information on the abducted people.
