The Government of the Peoples Republic of China has donated 70 luxury Maxus D90 vehicles worth billions of shillings to the government of Uganda to facilitate the movement of delegates during next years Non-Aligned Movement summit to be hosted by the government of Uganda.

Uganda will host the 19th Summit of Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Heads of State and Government, a forum of 120 member states from 15 to 20 January 2024, at the Munyonyo Commonwealth Resort in Kampala.

Then from 21 to 23 January, at the same venue, Uganda will host the Third South Summit organized under the framework of Group 77 and China, a loose alliance of developing countries.

Under the partnership agreement the government of Uganda has procured an extra 30 vehicles from the same manufacturer .

This is an addition to the 70 vehicles China donated to Uganda for the me G77 2019 which was postponed due to the out break of COVID- 19.

While handing over the vehicles to the state minister for works Musa Echweru, Chinese Ambassador to Uganda Zhang Lizhong says the significant contribution demonstrates the brotherly relationship between the people of Uganda and the People’s Republic of China.

They will play a critical role in VIP transportation during summits and state functions.
