Court to Rule on Business woman Nabukera's case in May

Buganda Road Court has set the 29th May  2024 to deliver it's judgement in a case in which Kampala businesswoman Christine Nabukera and her son Vicent Mawanda are charged with shop breaking and theft on her building.

The two were dragged to court by the chairman New Generation traders, Kabanda John Kabanda who accused  Christine Nabukeera and her son Vicent Mawanda of breaking into his shop D21 located on Nana center Building on Nabugabo road   and stealing his merchandise and money.

In November 2023, the court ordered the accused to defend themselves on the said charges which they allegedly committed between July and September 2020. 

During hearing of the case, prosecution adduced 9 witnesses who are all traders who claimed to have witnessed the said shop breaking on the 28th of  July 2020 immediately after COVID-19 first lock down.

Among the items allegedly stolen include; 350 million in cash,  43 sacks of shoes,his passport, record books and 125,000 is dollars.

Speaking to the media after the hearing, Kabanda called all fellow trades to show up on the 29th of May as the judgement is being delivered sting that it would be a glorified day.

" She broke into my shop yet I had done nothing to her but she  wanted to use me  as away of intimidating other traders to pay rent go the four months that they were under lock down without working." Kabanda claims.

According to Kabanda, Miss.Nabukera broke info his shop and stoke everything that was there and he reported the matter to police.
