 The speaker of Parliament Anita Among has urged religious leaders to Promote unity within their communities, to avoid divisions orchestrated by some selfish individuals.

While meeting the leaders of Uganda Muslim Supreme Council from Mbarara at Parliament, Among condemned divisive forces that threaten to weaken the fabric of society.

 Among said unless religious leaders play their role of uniting and shaping the nation's future, the people will not develop.

 

She also criticized those who habitually oppose government initiatives without considering their potential benefits. 

The religious leaders who were accompanied by the members of Parliament for Mbarara City South  Mwine Mpaka were led by the District Khadith Sheikh Abdallah  Mukwaya.

The district Khadith Mbarara Sheikh Abdallah Mukwaya thanked the speaker for the contribution she made towards the construction of the area mosque but also asked her to mobilize fellow MPs to contribute towards the same.

Mukwaya also appealed to speaker Among to lobby for the Muslim Supreme Council to recommend their people for jobs or positions in Government.
