Three suffocate to Death underground in Kagoma

Police at Wakiso district in Kagoma village Namayumba sub county have retrieved three bodies of workers who suffocated while digging a well.

The deceased who are identified as Katongole Fred the engineer of the site, Mugalasi John white and one only identified as Emma  are all  residents of Matuga.

They were employed to work on the land of Jimmy Katalaga resident of Kagoma village in Namayumba.

The deputy police spokesperson Kampala Metropolitan Luke Owoyesigyire says that the deceased got an obstacle deep 130 ft and decided to burn it which led to the loss of oxygen and suffocated to death.

He wonders how the deceased decided to sate fire while they were deep down which leads to loss of oxygen.

The bodies of the deceased were retrieved by fire and services and taken to Mulago hospital for postmortem.

He further observes that such cases of death of workers digging and excavating wells and pits for toilet are increasing where by every month they record a case of death by suffocation which is dangerous.
