A crucial hearing in the Henry Katanga murder case was postponed on Tuesday 20th August 2024 due to technical difficulties with internet connectivity.

Justice Isaac Muwata of the Kampala High Court was forced to adjourn the session after a Zoom link failed to connect with Luzira Maximum Prison, where the primary suspect, Molly Katanga, was set to appear virtually due to her use of a wheelchair.

Molly Katanga, along with her two daughters, Patricia Kakwanza and Martha Nkwanzi, is charged with the murder of Henry Katanga.

The accused are also facing charges related to evidence tampering and assisting the main suspect in evading justice.

George Amanyire, a houseboy, and Charles Otai, a nurse, are also implicated in the case as accessories after the fact.

On Tuesday, proceedings were expected to feature testimony from a senior police pathologist, who was scheduled to explain the cause of Henry Katanga’s death.

The pathologist’s insights are crucial to the prosecution’s case, which alleges that Henry was shot dead by Molly Katanga on November 2, 2023, in Nakawa Division, Kampala.

The prosecution accuses the defendants of removing or destroying evidence, including the body, the weapon used, and blood at the crime scene.

The case continues to attract significant public and media attention, reflecting its high-profile nature and the serious charges involved.
