According to the prosecution, the women's actions amounted to a "common nuisance," causing annoyance and inconvenience to the public.
The case was presented before Buganda Road Court Chief Magistrate Ronald Kayizzi, where the accused pleaded not guilty.
The protest is part of a broader movement against corruption in Uganda, following the infamous March 23rd, 2024 protests in Kampala, where over 100 people were charged for their involvement in anti-corruption demonstrations.
Prosecutor Ivan Kyazze informed the court that investigations into the case are complete, and a trial date should be set.
