Following a chilling Notice by the Uganda Development Bank (UDB) ordering Ndere center to pay an accumulated debt amounting to 10.5 billion shillings or the assets be confiscated and sold in the next 30 days, members of the public have come out demanding that government takes measures to save the African cultural and historical center that the country has in the center of the city.

in a bid to save the center that now stands on the brink of collapse over a relentless grip of a 10.5 billion accumulated debt,members of public suggest that government goes into a joint venture with Ndere center to jointly develop its projects, give Ndere center time to pay off the debt or intervene by paying off the debt.
This is according to Pastor Martin Ssempa who is championing the public dialogue to pressure government to save the cultural center from extinction.
Stephen Rwangyezi, founder of the iconic Ndere Troupe says he has not failed to pay the un serviced 6.8 billion loan taken from the Uganda Development Bank (UDB) in 2019 but was faced by financial challenges following the outbreak of COVID 19.
