Chelimo is facing charges of aggravated defilement of a 15-year-old student and Trafficking in children. He denies all the charges.

The said charges were confirmed by Justice Alice Komuhangi in May this year, and despite his multiple bail applications, the Court declined to temporarily release him pending the determination of his case.
