Hon. Mwijukye, his wife and driver were traveling in Land cruiser personalized number Plate "MP WEITU" from Masaka to Kampala.
According to Katonga region police Spokesperson Lydia Tumushabe, the three people who died in the accident have been identified as John the Bodaboda rider, Florence Nabukenya 13 and Tadius Lubyayi a 9 year old both children of George Lubega a resident of Mbizzinnya.
She adds that after the accident locals turned violent against Hon Mwijukye and his driver blaming them for causing the death of innocent children from one family.
Tumushabe further adds that the police from Buwama managed to rescue Mwijukye and his driver from the scene of the accident and were taken to hospital for medical check-up as investigations continue.
The bodies of the three deceased have been taken to Gombe hospital for postmortem as wreckage of the motor vehicle and motorcycle have been taken to Buwama police.
