"COVID19 Vaccines are Safe and Effective"--US EMBASSY

U.S. Ambassador to Uganda Natalie E. Brown has assured Ugandans that the vaccines being donated to Uganda are safe and highly effective.

She was speaking as the United States announced the arrival of more than 1.6 million U.S.-provided doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine to Uganda.

This is the second batch after the earlier donation of 647,080 Moderna doses on September 6th.

To date, the United States has delivered more than 136 million COVID-19 vaccine doses worldwide and more vaccines are on their way across Africa.

She says the vaccines will help in reducing the risk of COVID-19, including serious illness and death and bringing this pandemic to an end.

Natalie E. Brown says US  vaccine donation is just one facet of the United States’ comprehensive support for Uganda’s COVID-19 response. To date the United States has provided COVID-19-related assistance valued at $111 million (nearly UGX 400 billion), to help Uganda prevent, diagnose and treat COVID-19 cases.
