Opposition Forms New Pressure Group

A group of opposition political parties have formed a new pressure group aimed at ousting President Museveni from power.

The new pressure group named People's front for transition( PFT) will be led by former FDC party president Dr. Kizza Besigye, as it's national chairman, deputised by Lord mayor of Kampala Elias Lukwago.

Members who have subscribed to the People's Front for Transition include People's government, FDC, CP, the Social Democratic party, Uganda Young Democrats, UPC faction led by Peter Walubiri and JEEMA among others.

According to the new pressure group, ANT party and civil society are observers.

Speaking during the Launch the FDC party president Patrick Oboi Amuriat emphasized that election alone cannot change the sitting government and hence the need for such a pressure group. On his part Dr. Kiiza Besigye who is also the pressure group’s chairperson said they want to ensure they bring to an end the suffering of Ugandans adding that this time they are going to walk the talk.
