- Deputy speaker tells her haters to go hang
- No tormentor will stop her from serving in parliament
- Among asks her supporters to remain calm
Deputy Speaker, Anita Among has spoken out on the recent purported dossier gathered by security organs detailing her financial scandals, telling off her haters to go hang.
Hon. Among said she is not scared and none of her tormentors will stand in her way to serve as deputy and Speaker for 20 years.
Addressing a parliamentary session to pay tribute to the first female legislator Florence Lubega, Among asked her tormentors to come up with better tricks instead of current threats directed at her.
She was provoked by Hoima woman Harriet Businge who said that late former legislator Lubega did whatever she did because of the conducive environment accorded to her by this nation calling on Ugandans to offer the same environment to the current female leaders.
The debate was further resurrected by Dokolo woman mp Cecilia Ogwal who asked the Deputy Speaker to institute an investigation into the origin of the dossier, saying such attacks targeting women are not new .
Ogwal said such attacks started with former Vice President Specioza Kazibwa, then former Speaker Rebecca Kadaga and the country is now witnessing the same attacks on Deputy Speaker.
But deputy speaker Among rubbished off calls for an investigation urging her supporters to stay calm noting that in leadership, one will always face some adversaries.
''True power is about sitting back and watch the situations unfold.'' Among noted
Over the weekend, social media was awash with a purported dossier targeting Among with claims that her friendship with President Yoweri Museveni had come to an end and the President is plotting to relieve her of her juicy Deputy Speaker job.
