Stop Talking About Corruption Cases In court -Kagaba

The Executive Director of Anti- Corruption Coalition Uganda - ACCU, Cissy Kagaba has Urged politicians including the president of Uganda H.E Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa to stop talking about any case of corruption that is before Courts.

Kagaba who was speaking during the two day Anti- Corruption convention in Kampala noted that discussing matters that are before court sometimes may lead Judges to lose form of independence  and probably adhere to what the President or any politician has said.

The Anti - corruption convention is among series of activities organized ahead of commemorating the International Anti-Corruption day commemorated every 9th of December annually.

The national event to mark the day will be held at Kololo independence ground on Thursday this week and H.E the president of Uganda Yoweri will be the chief guest.

Reports from the State House Anti-Corruption Unit, reveals that the country loses an estimated UGX 2 trillion to corrupt tendencies each year.According to the 2020 corruption index report,  Corruption rank in Uganda increased to 142 in 2020 from 137 in 2019.
