Police in Kampala have intercepted over 27 intern doctors who were marching to parliament to hand over their petitions to speaker of Parliament Jacob Oulanya.

Their arrest follows the directive by the minister of health to give them a deadline to leave the government hospitals since they have refused to end the strike aimed at demanding their money promised to them by the government.

Their procession started at Mulago guest house and they lied to the police that they were heading to the ministry of health for official duties
