- Floods and land slides swept away houses and destroyed gardens
- Most affected areas are Nyarusiza sub county, Muramba and Bunagana near the Uganda-Rwanda border.

The number of people who died in floods in the South Western district of Kisoro has risen to nine.
According to Uganda Red Cross, spokesperson Irene Nakasiita, the deceased were in houses that were swept away by water and mud flowing from Mountain Muhabura downstream Monday night in Nyarusiza sub county.
Four of the deceased were from Kaboale and Rukeri villages while five were from Buzeyi village.
Other affected sub counties are Muramba and Bunagana near the Uganda-Rwanda border.
So far eight bodies have been retrieved by the Red Cross team on the ground.
Due to flooding as a result of heavy rains , a number of houses were destroyed, some are submerged and some roads have been made impassable by heavy stones, and mud.
A joint assessment is being conducted by Uganda Red Cross, UPDF, the Police, and the District Disaster Management Committee (Kisoro DDMC) led by the RDC.
