35 New Deacons Ordained in the Church of Uganda

Sensitization of communities on the right path to faith ,wealth and Education was the message conveyed to thousands  of Christian's who gathered in the Eastern district of Butaleja to witness the Ordination 35 deacons.

The ceremony at St Stephens Church Kachonga that was presided over by  Rt Rev Samuel George Bogere the Bishop of Bukedi diocese,a province of the  Church of the Province of Uganda culminated into various concerns raised by the Church to Government and the communities .

The Church is concerned that Church land was given out in the colonial days for public use but ever since church land has been grabbed and converted to private use.

The fun filled day full of Christians from seven districts that comprise Bukedi Diocese was graced by church leaders,the business community,the locals in Butaleja and political leaders.

The activities  involved the Ordination of Canons, Priests,Deacons,and political leaders.

Those ordained have successfully under gone theological training by the Church of Uganda and prepared  to serve God.

The main preacher, Prof Rt Rev. Alfred Olwa the Bishop of  Lango Diocese has urged church leaders to preach the truth and prepare Christians to embrace the current challenges of poverty,temptation and
