He further explains that Northcote Revolutionary army NRA) was in charge of guarding the Forum for Democratic Change candidate Justus Tukamushaba while Rat Guard Brigade was for the National Unity Platform (NUP) candidate Lawrence Arionzi a.k.a Dangote and Oxegable Guard Brigade was guarding the National Resistance Movement candidate.

The police spokesperson says that facts gathered indicate that the deceased was fatally wounded after being cut by  a broken glass bottle on the right side of the neck  after he was attacked near Nsibirwa Hall junction.

He says after being cut, the  victim rushed to the washrooms at Nsibirwa Hall to clean himself of blood, where his colleagues picked and transported him to the university hospital, where he was pronounced dead.Enanga says that they have reviewed the CCTV footages which were captured on that day and have generated a list of 15 suspects whom they are looking for following their involvement in the scuffle between FDC and NUP supporters.

He  also revealed that the three suspects who include the Kassanda South MP Frank Kabuye will be charged with inciting violence."As we remember Betungura Bewotti, we call upon all stakeholders to come together with a common goal of stopping such kinds of tragedies which simply expose the ideologies we hold.

There is no justification whatsoever, for such acts of violence in universities. We should instead have empathy, care and compassion for one another,” Fred Enanga said.“We pledge to continue working with the university in stopping the toxic culture of violence at different campuses through physical violence education and prevention programs.”
