Queen Kaftah one of the girls who appeared in a video violently assaulting a colleague over a man has been charged and remanded to Luzira government Prison.
The 18 year old Kaftah a Tanzanian National on Tuesday appeared d before grade one magistrate at Kira Magistrates Court Nyadoi Esther.
A student of Trinity College Nabweru, Kaftah was not allow to say anything on one capital offence of aggravated torture.
Prosecution states that Kaftah and others still at large on 8th January 2023 at Nsasa Kira Municipality inflicted injuries on Pretty Nicole Eseza aged 15 years.
According to prosecution this caused her grievous harm.
Kaftah are her accomplices accused Pretty Nicole of snatching her boyfriend Derick Lwanga.
One of the girls who was seen in videos via social media beating their colleague accusing her of loving her boyfriend has brrn charged and remanded to Luzira government prison.
Kaftah accused her of betraying their friendship by loving his boyfriend. This after she found Nicole at Lwanga’s place. Kaftah was in the company of her sister, when she corned Nicole in the house.
In video that went viral last week the girls/women started harassing Nicole, slapping her, pulling hair as they warned her to stop seeing the man Derrick.
However while still in court holding cells, Queen Kafta who could not hold back her tears told journalists that she is indeed sorry for bartering her friend .
Upon conviction, Queen Kafta may face a life in prison which is the maximum penalty for aggravated torture .
She has been ordered to return to Court on 31st January 2023.
