Hearing of Nagirinya's murder court ; 9th Witness testifies

The 9th state prosecution witness in the  murder trial of social worker Maria Nagirinya and her driver Ronald Kitayimbwa  told Court that the deceased were dumped in a valley,with a trench running across along the Mukono-Katosi main road.

Detective Sabasi Katenengo was then attached to Mukono Police station as a scenes of crimes officer and examined  the place where the victims were dumped .

He revealed that the remains of the two victims were discovered with deep cut wounds on their heads and other several injuries with two missing teeth in the upper Jaw of Maria Nagiringa, upon examination.

Detective Katenengo further testified that his team also recovered other  items from the crime scene including a brown wallet hidden in a  nearby cassava plantation, a grey piece of cloth, a black Jacket and three pieces of logs. 

The team also took photographs including the remains of Nagirinya and Kitayimbwa and other discoveries before putting their  findings in a report.

The printed photographs and the report have been shown to court and later tendered in and accepted  as prosecution exhibits. The group led by  Coporiyamu Kasolo , were in the year 2020 sent to High Court for trial after police concluded its inquiries.

Prosecution states that on August 28th 2019, Nagirinya  and her driver were kidnapped from Lungujja Nabisasiro zone in Lubaga division , killed and their bodies were dumped in Nakitutuli village in Mukono district.

Prosecution will bring evidence to show that the suspects used violence to rob Nagirinya  of her motor vehicle, mobile phone and cash amounting to 260, 000 shillings  and also proceeded to rob Kitayimbwa of his mobile phone and his money-24000 shillings.

The suspects were arrested as they attempted to withdraw money from Nagirinya's mobile phones at Nateete, a Kampala suburb.The case is before High Court Judge Isaac Muwata.
