Police Hunt Woman for Husband's Genital Mutilation

Police in Kamuli district have launched a manhunt for a 34-year-old woman who cut off her husband's genitals as a result of domestic violence. The suspect, identified as Susan Namuganza, is currently on the run.

Her husband, Kawubanya Moses, is the director of Serena Children's Home. Both are residents of Busana Zone, Nabirumba Ward, Nabwigulu Subcounty in Kamuli district.According to Namukaya Esther, the victim's sister, she blames Namuganza for having poor relations with her husband's relatives.

She adds that the feud began over the weekend when Kawubanya invited his mother to visit them so he could take care of her at their home, which greatly annoyed Namuganza."She has been inviting relatives from her side to visit, but she never wanted to see relatives from her husband's side," said Namukaya Esther.

Last evening, after midnight, Kawubanya was returning from the bathroom and entered the bedroom. When the baby started crying, Namuganza woke up, and Kawubanya thought she was going to get milk for the baby. However, she returned with a sharp knife and cut off his genitals.Michael Kasadha, the Busoga North region spokesperson, confirmed the incident. He stated that the man raised an alarm, which attracted neighbors who rushed him to Kamuli General Hospital for medical treatment.

Kasadha also mentioned that the woman fled with an unspecified amount of cash and that the hunt is on to bring her to justice."We have launched a serious manhunt for Susan Namuganza for allegedly attempting to murder her husband by cutting off his genitals," said Kasadha.Further inquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the entire matter.
