President Museveni has warned  Parliament against making reallocations in the budget without the involvement of the executive.

In a letter  read by Speaker of Parliament Anita Among before the house, Museveni expressed concern over MPs' reallocations of 3.7 trillion shillings from core sectors of the economy for over four years, terming it  as sabotage, indiscipline, and suspicious of corruption.

"Diverting 3.1 trillion shillings in four years is equivalent to aborting nine big roads of the Kampala Masaka type or a much larger number of smaller roads "reads Among.

He noted that this amount could have funded the construction of  big  roads, benefiting all Ugandans.

However the warning by the President sparked debate among MPs who accuse him of making unfounded corruption accusations against them.

The house has constituted the committee of the whole house to reconsider the appropriation bill the president declined to sign.

The President’s move has been seen as an attempt to exert control over Parliament's budgetary powers ,leading to tensions between the Executive and Legislature.

The house has now constituted a committee to reconsider the appropriation bill worth 72.trillion of the budget.
