Uganda Martyrs University Launches Course on Chaplaincy.

Uganda Martyrs University has introduced a new Short Course on Chaplaincy and pastoral Care aimed at Empowering chaplains in Uganda with essential knowledge, values and skills to enhance their work on spiritual and pastoral care.

The memorable event was officiated by Bishop Serverus Jjumba of Masaka Diocese who represented  the newly appointed Archbishop of Gulu Diocese who also Doubles as the Chairperson of Council Uganda Martyrs University Rt. Rev. Rapheal  Wokorach at the University’s Main Campus in Nkozi.

The training has so far attracted 70 chaplains in Uganda serving in several institutions, with no discrimination on weather Anglicans, Muslims, orthodox and other religious faith.

Dr. Patrick Kyamanywa says the course that is intended to be rolled out across the east African region   will equip chaplains with essential knowledge, values, skills and tools relevant for enhancing their spiritual and pastoral care roles; recognizing the evolving challenges and needs of the contemporary world.
