Opposition parties positive about outcomes of a national dialogue

Members of oppositions are ready for  the proposed national dialogue by the inter religious council and elders forum aimed at addressing a number of issues in the country,

In the joint statement presented to the media, members of opposition say the dialogue is needed but should be genuine, well prepared and fruitful. The opposition parties that were represented by their party presidents in this meeting were, Forum for Democratic Change (FDC), Democratic Party (DP), Uganda People's Congress (UPC), People's Progressive party (PPP) and The New Formation.

Former UPC president, Olala Otunu notes that they are engaging with the organizers of the dialogue adding that the government should do the same.

Speaking at Protea hotel, Kampala during a  press conference, Mugisha Muntu advised the government to respond positively regarding the dialogue.

According to him, if the government desires to see a smooth transition they should respond positively, if they want to continue on path of using force they would chose to do that.

In attendance was Norbet Mao, Alice Alaso, Wafula Ogutu, and Lubega Mukaku among others.
