The deputy speaker of Parliament Jacob Oulanya says the accountability systems in Uganda have failed to deliver on fighting corruption.

Speaking during the Accountability sector joint review meeting which is ongoing at speak resort Munyonyo, the deputy speaker has noted that if accountability systems are effective enough, the level of corruption in Uganda would be diminishing.

He says the government departments and agencies that are fighting corruption need to reposition them selves and remove  all barriers that are failing them to perform.
In the same meeting Oulanya attacked the Parliamentary committees such as  COSASE and Public accounts committee (PAC) over incompetence in handling anti- corruption cases, adding that instead of handling bigger corruption cases, they are focusing on small cases.
Oulanya has also urged government ministries and department that are attending the accountability joint sector review to have questions in mind on how to strengthen transparency in place other than attending meeting for ceremonial.
The accountability joint sector review aims at sharing accountability, assessing responsibility, and discussing effectiveness of service delivery in government agencies, ministries and departments in the country.
