Police fires tear gas to disperse protestors

Police have fired live bullet and tear gas to disperse members of parliament and activists who wanted to enter the constitutional square protesting the new taxes on social media and Mobile money.

The group led by Kyandondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Aka Bobi wine pleaded with police allow their procession but in vain.

The police from Central Police Station commanded by Joseph Bakaleke manage to arrest some of the leaders including Kamwokya LC11 chairperson Nyanzi and currently detained at CPS where they will be charged with hold unlawfully assembly.

Recently the members of parliament led by Robert Kyagulanyi and Gerald Karuhanga, Ugandan artists, youths and activists,launched a campaign to protest the new taxes on social media and Mobile money saying it affects ordinary Ugandans.
