Public Universities will remain closed this Thursday  as none teaching staff from public universities vow to continue with their strike.
Although the Education minister Janet Kataha Museveni assured parliament yesterday that they will resume work tomorrow, the chairperson none teaching staff Association Jackson Betihama says that they will continue with the industrial act strike until they get clear communication in writing r on how and when they will be paid.In the meeting they held with the ministers of education and finance, they resolved   that their arrears will be paid out in the second quarter of financial year 2016/17, but the ministry of education was given a condition to put the resolution in writing by yesterday.
However Betihama says that the letter received from the permanent secretary of the ministry education is not clear on how the   salary increment and payment of salary arrears will be implemented. The workers have been on strike for more than a week.
