This year’s Rotary Cancer run is targeting to raise four million dollars.
Speaking at the launch of the Cancer run scheduled to take place on the 28th of August, the Prime minister of Buganda Kingdom Charles Peter Mayiga noted that proceedings from the annual run will go towards equipping the Rotary Cancer ward at Nsambya hospital with a linear Accelerator machine used to destroy cancerous cells without affecting surrounding tissues.
Katikiro Mayiga has urged the Rotarian clubs in the country to introduce a program of physical exercises for all Ugandans as one way to fight increasing rates of non communicable diseases especially cancer.
