Police in Jinja is Investigating circumstances under which a student of Kampala University Jinja branch was shot dead by a private security guard at the Campus premises .
The deceased has been identified as Katagwa Isaac 26 year's old waiting for graduation in January next year but he was retained as a part time worker at the university.
According to Diana Nandaula Kiira region police spokesperson the incident happened at Walukuba Masese Sub county in Jinja municipality last night.
She also identified the suspect as Sayyid Zaid 37 years of age attached to Star react private Company based in Jinja town.
It is alleged that the guard suspected Katagwa to be a wrong person and shot at him killing him instantly.
Nandaula further adds that the suspect is detained at Jinja and his gun is also exhibited to help in Investigation. The deceased's body has been taken to Jinja referral hospital for Postmortem.
