Preparations are underway for the official opening of the Soroti Fruit Factory in Arapai Sub County, Soroti District this Saturday.
The factory that will be commissioned by President Yoweri Museveni will directly employ 56 full time staff and over one thousand in the value chain comprised of suppliers and dealers.
The factory has been constructed by the Government through its investment arm the Uganda Development Corporation with support from the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).
The factory produces juice from oranges, mangoes and pineapples under the brand name, Teso Juice - Teju which will hit the Ugandan market after commissioning.
