Professional sports scientists under their umbrella organization Uganda Society of Sports Science and Physical Education are concerned that government is not employing the sports graduates yet the national physical education and sports policy requires government to recruit them as sports officers and this keeps many of them unemployed.
During their annual general meeting which took place at Makerere University many of them said that the sports sector has been neglected yet it’s very crucial to the development of the country.
The general secretary of the Uganda society of sports science and physical education Nsubuga Mustapha asks Government to come up with a law that will govern sports issues in the country, especially protecting the sports facilities.
The society has also honored professor Era Mugisa for introducing sports science and contributing to its development in the country.
