The Ntare Lions League will hold the grand finale of its twelfth season at Ntare School, a place we call home, on Saturday, May 28, 2022.
Ntare Lions League President, Moses Guma Aine Amatsiko, is both relieved and excited about the upcoming final.
"Going into this final, we are excited about two things; that we have finally come to the climax of a season that has faced numerous challenges in the COVID-19 era, and that we are being hosted by Ntare School. This is the most exciting bit about the Season Twelve final because going back to Ntare always evokes great memories," said Moses Guma Aine Amatsiko, President, Ntare Lions League.
"We continue our partnership with Jumia Uganda who have supported us since 2019 and will join them in their ten-year anniversary celebrations in Mbarara. We would also like to extend appreciation to PeakShots - our photography partner, Buzen Tech who provide web services, and all other service providers who have been with us during this season," he added.
Lyz Cynthia Zaninka, Head of Brand and Communications, Jumia Uganda, said Jumia are proud to be part of this journey and hope to continue growing the partnership they share with the Ntare Lions League."As Jumia, we are proud and privileged to be part of the legendary Ntare Lions League which this year resonates with our 10 year anniversary. Jumia has been part of the Ntare Lions League since 2019 and we hope to continue growing this and other strategic partnerships to give back and engage with our consumers," said Lyz Cynthia Zaninka, Head of Brand and Communications, Jumia Uganda.
The main event of the Ntare Lions League Season Twelve final will be the match between Nshera FC (Class of 2005-10) and FC Ebicuncu (Class of 1988-93) playing to have their name etched on the prestigious shield.
FC Nshera are eyeing their second title having won Season Ten in 2019 while FC Ebicuncu are still chasing their first victory and will be playing in their third successive final.
Before this mouthwatering clash, there will be a friendly match between the Ntare Lions League Select and the current Ntare School football team, and another between the Mbarara Corporate Ladies and FC Bweras, of the Bweranyangi Girls Old Girls with whom we play during the regular season.
The rest of the Ntare Lions League teams will play placement matches in the morning session on the day.
To cap off the day, all roads will lead to The Heat in Kakoba, Mbarara for the after-party.
"We have planned for a thrilling experience of great vibes that night at The Heat where we shall celebrate with the champions and our entire community of players, old boys, fans and well-wishers," said Seth Nuwagaba, Corporate Relations Manager, Ntare Lions League.
There will be a guest performance from Capital FM's DJ Nyowe, who is an Old Boy with FC Abashweki (Class of 2008-13), at the after-party.
