Jinja consultations turn into tear gas initiation for Mbabazi

Police has fired tear gas to disperse supporters of former Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi who had gathered crowds for his consultation meeting in Jinja.

Edgar Nyabwongo the Regional police commander Jinja district says police received a letter from Jinja Town Clerk David Kyasanku informing them that Jinja municipal council will use Kakindu play ground for their activities which Mbabazi had wanted to use for his consultation.

He notes that Mbabazi was suppose to address the meeting at Triangle hotel and not in open air. Kakindu play ground and Kazimingi ground remain sealed off and heavily guarded by police.
