University student arrested for murdering former teacher

Kyambogo university student has been arrested for allegedly killing his former high school teacher.

Police identified the suspect as one Ronald Asiimwe a second year student at Kyambogo university.

He is alleged to have murdered Emmanuel Mugarula, a former mathematics teacher at St Charles Lwanga senior secondary school in Bushenyi who had paid him a visit at his rental in Banda Nakawa division.

According to Patrick Onyango Kampala metropolitan police spokesperson , the suspect had invited special hire driver to pick garbage that was meant to be disposed off , but the driver noticed the body and alerted the area security.

According to an unnamed garbage driver, Ronald Asiimwe paid 50,000 shillings for his services and noticed that something was wrapped in the taupline ,he asked the suspect to inform him about what they were carrying but instead Asiimwe told him that it was a dead elephant calf and convinced him he would add more money up to 1,000,000 shillings . This made him suspicious and he alerted the authorities .

He adds that the reason and circumstances under which the deceased murdered are not yet known and the body has been taken to Mulago for postmortem.
