Ntungamo Police are holding a woman in connection with the death of her husband. The suspect is Serina Gahwire, a resident of Kizanga cell Rwikiniro sub-county in Ntungamo district.
Serina Gahwire was picked up on Wednesday in connection to the brutal murder of her husband Evalisto Gahwire.
Ibin Ssenkumbi, the Rwizi Region Police spokesperson, says preliminary police investigations show that the deceased was sleeping with his wife in the house when unknown assailants stormed at around 5am on Wednesday and hacked him to death.
Lawrence Babiha, a resident of the area says Gahwire has been blocking attempts by his children from selling part of the family estate. The children reportedly wanted to sell the land to raise capital for business.
