Women activists call for laws against human trafficking

Women activists have asked all East African countries to enact specific laws against Human trafficking that is affecting all member States .
At global level its estimated that  27 million people are leaving in modern day slavery as a result of human trafficking.
Speaking to media today the executive director East African sub region support initiative for Advancement  of Women  Shilah Kawamala said that out of six countries  only three countries including Uganda , Kenya and Tanzania have such laws in place.
She said that to fight this vice all members state must come up with common stringent measures fight this problem .
She said that to augmented this further member state must as well ascent to then East African gender ,Equity ,equality and development bill that was passed this year in Kigali Rwanda to unify all gender issues in member countries.
