women demand reduction on Mulago hospital fees

Women groups in the country are demand that government amends the fees required to receive services at Mulago Specialized Women and Neonatal Hospital to make it affordable for ordinary Ugandans.

This is among many of demands that women want the government to pursue across all sectors in tackling challenges that have continuously affected women.

This was revealed at the launch of fourth national women’s week at hotel Africana which is organized annually by women’s organizations to reflect, analyze and come up with innovative and influential strategies to change the status-quo in regard to  issues affecting progress on women  politically, economically and socially.

According to Sylivia Namubiru Mukasa  the director legal aids service providers network, expedite enactment of marriage and divorce bill and sexual offenses bill which currently under discussion in parliament is also among other demands.

The one week conference has been organized by vibrant and influential women's movement advocating for gender equality and equality and it will run under theme '' crossing barriers, building bridges: unleashing collective power''.
