The yellow fever outbreak has been successfully contained in the country, according to the ministry of health.

The acting director general of health services in the ministry of health Professor Anthony Mbonye made the announcement during a press briefing at Uganda Media Centre.

The outbreak was reported in March this year in three districts of Masaka, Rukungiri and kalangala.

65 people were suspected to be having the Viral Hemorrhagic Fever but out of these 7 were confirmed and 3 of these died.

But Mbonye says that there are no new cases which have been reported and a number of people in the three districts have been vaccinated.

However he says that the disease surveillance was still going on to detect any other possible outbreak of Yellow Fever.
