Parliament police and the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) have arrested three managers of Tembo still rolling mills in Lugazi for mistreatment of workers.

NEMA and the Environment Police had accompanied the parliamentary committee on Natural resources for close monitoring on how factories manage waste and gas emissions to protect the environment only to find workers there with terrible wounds and burns all over the factory.

They also visited SCOUL sugar factory and found them complaint in clean production.

The furious MPS ordered for the arrest of three managers on discovery that the workers were working under bad conditions with no working gear, unfair dismissal and failure to par salary arrears.

The MPs say they arrested the officials of Tembo steel mill after failing to explain why they mistreat Ugandan workers.
