Police in Kampala is holding a wife of city prominent pastor for faking her own kidnap. Maria Tusubira a wife of Pastor Shadrak Tusubira proprietor of Noah's Ark church Masajja B kibira zone has been arrested from her daughter's home in Kikajjo Wakiso district after she failed to get the 50m she had demanded from her husband.
Maria went missing last week after she left her home saying she had gone to buy a plot of land in Gayaza. Unidentified person claiming to be kidnapper later used her phone to contact her family demanding for shs 50m in order to release.
Luke Owoyesigire the Kampala metropolitan police spokesperson says Maria who was with her boyfriend one Angello Ssembusii traveled to Masaka where she spent days at her brother as they waited for the ransom before she could return to Kampala.
Owoyesigire adds that after the family kept deaf ear, Maria sneaked back to Kampala and went to her elder daughter's home where she was tracked and arrested from.
She is currently detained at Katwe police station awaiting to be arraigned before courts of law.
