An insurance officer has been charged with rape and remanded to Luzira prison.
The suspect has been identified as 46 year old Kigonya Fred a resident of Seguku.
He has been charged by Buganda road court grade one magistrate Robert Mukanza who bared him from taking plea to the charge because he is charged by a capital offense that is only tried and bailed by the high court.
He has now been remanded to Luzira prison until the 10th of June for mention of his case.
Prosecution states that on the 13th of January 2019 at Sir Apollo Kagwa road in Kampala, Kigonya Fred had sexual intercourse with the victim without her consent.
