SOS Children's village, one of Uganda's oldest child care organizations has announced a fundraising campaign to raise money to help the organization increase the number of children in their homes from 8,000 to 11,000 in the next three years.

The campaign dubbed '' Every Child Deserves A Chance, Be That Chance'' is seeking to collect 6 billion Uganda shillings to ensure that the organization meet all children needs from education to health care to basic home needs.

While announcing the campaign at SOS Children's village in Entebbe, Olive Lumonya, the National director has noted that the fundraising aims at closing the gap in funding after a realization of significant reduction of donor funding from abroad.

She says the donation plat platforms for this campaign are mobile money, Bank deposit, Online transfers and direct donation at an SOS Children's home and at end of the campaign will publish the names of all people and companies contributed for purposes of accountability.

Currently, Uganda has 1.5 million orphan children according to UNICEF reports. Many of these are orphaned due to HIV and are living in poverty and squalor.

Thousands of other children have been abandoned by their parents or relatives for one reason or another.
