Legendary singing group Blu*3 makes history

The Blu*3 reunion concert was registered a success having filled up Kampala Sheraton Grounds.

The veteran singing group made of Cindy Sanyu, Lilian Mbabazi, and Jackie Chandiru finally held its highly anticipated reunion concert on 22nd June 2024.

The beloved Ugandan girl group did not disappoint, delivering a thrilling performance that took the audience on a nostalgic journey through their timeless hits where revelers turned up in big numbers.

The trio performed a mix of their old and new songs, showing their evolution as musicians. Each member of the trio had the opportunity to shine with solo performances, but the highlight of the night was the reunion of Blu 3 on stage, performing their most loved hits. Jackie Chandiru’s set was particularly impressive, starting with “Champion” and featuring a duet with Vinka, who emotionally expressed her gratitude to Jackie, calling her a mentor.

Cindy and Lilian also delivered stunning solo performances, maintaining the essence of Blu 3’s signature sound. The choreography and dancing were exceptional, reflecting the dedication and effort put into the performance.

The audience was taken on a trip down memory lane with fan favorites like “Strong Woman,” “Hitaji,” “Nzijukira,” “Mutima Gwange,” “Burn,” and more, with everyone dancing and singing along. The closing set was a highlight, featuring “Where You Are,” an emotional tribute to the late Mozey Radio, with Weasel joining the ladies on stage, followed by the grand finale, “Nsanyuka Nawe.”

Among the artists that  attended the reunion concert included Rema Namakula, Maurice Kirya, Kenneth Mugabi, Sheebah Karungi, Rema and Lydia Jasmine among others and were seen singing along to every song.

Organized by Talend Africa, the Blu 3 reunion concert left a watershed moment in the entertainment industry.
