Ugandans to showcase their scars on the Scar Appreciation Day

Ugandans with scars are to show case their beauty in commemoration of the The Scar Appreciation Day slated for the 22nd October 2022.

Monica Khatokho, 31, who was diagnosed with a rare condition known as Cushing's syndrome in 2016 and underwent a surgery that left a scar on her belly now chooses to show her scars to the world through fashion than hide them.

Through her fashion house Khatz Moniq Apparel they have organized a Charity Fashion Show under the theme" My Scars Are Beautiful "will take place in commemoration of the National Scar Appreciation Day on 22nd October 2022 at Mestil Hotel, Kampala

The day is observed to appreciate and accept the scars people have gotten and moved on from, the mental trauma and painful memories that caused the scars. Scars may not be a beautiful sight.

Proceeds from the fashion show will go towards Dirare Organization that is being set up to offer support to individuals with scars.

This will be the first time the fashion show will be running.
