Africans in diaspora are set to exhibit and celebrate their culture in a convention  on Wednesday, 24th May 2023. The four day event that will happen in Mombasa, Kenya is  organised by AIDO Network International.

Speaking to Capital Radio, the Executive Director AIDO Network International Uganda ,Petronella Ochom said, "The event is expected to attract over 500 participants including African cultural Leaders, Government officials and Civil Society representatives from all African countries who will discuss different ways of promoting the African culture wherever they are."  She added that the convention will as well enable African traditional leaders to join hands in protecting   human rights for vulnerable groups and  strengthen the fight against harmful cultural practices that people face especially women and girls.

Ochom said that guests will walk the red carpet as they showcase a variety of  African cultural outfits.

AIDO seeks to revive and strengthen African cultural values in the spirit of Pan-Africanism and  cooperation among human rights defenders. It is a non-governmental organisation with an overall objective of advancing an agenda for the development of Africa both on the continent and in the diaspora.
